Swans

Event type: Monthly Meeting
Date: 3rd November 2026
Time: 2:30 pm
Venue: Old Barn Hall
Organiser:

Daniel Keel is a local author, journalist, birdwatcher and speaker who is an expert on swans and gives this talk about these magnificent birds which are so common in the south of England.

He combines his knowledge of swans alongside his experiences among them during 30 years of birdwatching on land, at sea and in the air (he is a private pilot). He also discusses the myriad of myths and fairytales about swans - Can a swan really break your arm? Does the king really own them all? Do they really sing before they die? Do they really mate for life?
